Christine + Mike:: A Wedding Album

I recently received Christine + Mike’s wedding album and I couldn’t resist sharing! I am so excited to have found an amazing album company to work with, Madera Books, and couldn’t be happier with their quality and aesthetic.

Madera albums come with a presentation box as pictured here – a perfect keepsake box!

Christine and Mike chose to have a cover photo with their name + wedding date imprinted and went with a red/brown leather which goes perfectly with their wedding. So many options to chose from :)

I love the thick, lay-flat pages and that the gutter is teeny-tiny. Seriously, the quality is impeccable!

All of my wedding albums are custom designed by myself – I strive for simplicity in the design, with the highlight being on your images + wedding story.

Katherine + Chris:: A Santa Cruz Engagement

I had such a wonderful time photographing Katherine + Chris for their engagement session in Santa Cruz! We started at the boardwalk and were lucky enough to beat the crowds (it was October, after all!). After spending some time there, we ventured to a beach that is special to Katherine and Chris.. where they may have their wedding ceremony! So awesome. The light was gorgeous and I always love discovering these beautiful California gems. Enjoy!

I am incredibly excited to share with you the new brand + blog + website of Jessica Burke Photography! Last spring I teamed up with the lovely ladies of Stitch Design Co. and with their awesome creative guidance, my new brand really came to life. It has been quite the journey – from selecting colors to portfolio images to all of the little details.. a labor of love!

When I was young I always thought I would be a writer when I grew up.. after becoming a photographer and trying to write about myself, I’ve determined it wouldn’t have been a wise career choice.

So.. here we go :)

For me, taking a photograph is incredibly special. Not only do I have the opportunity to freeze a moment in time, but also to portray that moment the way I see it through my own eyes. Nothing is more amazing to me than capturing pure emotion.. transporting you back to that moment, simply by viewing that image. Giving you the same butterflies you had as you walked down the aisle, shared your first wedded kiss, or anxiously applied that last bit of lipstick. And, with possibly the exception of the birth of a child, there isn’t a day in your life that is filled with more emotion than your wedding day. I am beyond honored to have the opportunity to photograph weddings, be a part of a bride + groom’s special day, to capture their wedding story. You can read a bit more about my photography style here, but truly the best way to understand my work is simply by viewing it.

Spend some time on my blog and you will feel those same butterflies yourself – I promise.

I live in the East Bay with my husband, Joe & puppy, Lucca. She is two years old but still hasn’t quite grown out of that puppy stage yet (and secretly, I hope she never does). I travel frequently for weddings, with the majority in the Napa + Sonoma Valleys. I have an affection for all things San Francisco, anything dessert-related and deep conversations that end in an uncontrollable amount of laughter. More things I love can be found here.
